Time Awaits had no favours in winning well here, covering more ground than any yet finishing too well. She got away smartly from barrier ten but being wide had little option but to drop back to midfield. Around the bend, rider Damien Thornton pushed forward, three wide, then five wide as the field straightened for the run home. Time Awaits had several lengths to make up and appeared flat but really got going at the 200m, gathered them in to be alongside the leaders at the 50m then stuck her head out just short of the post. Spoils was second, one out, passing the 600m, co-led to near the last corner and took over narrowly at the 200m. She seemed to have them covered to the 50m but Time Awaits flew past late. Pageantry was fourth turning in, needed a run which came late as she ran on well late, between runners, to grab third a nose ahead of Hot Girl Wanted, who had every chance in the run home to battle into fourth.
