The flying Rain Affair ran along strongly in the lead (first 600m 34.92), increased his lead on straightening and went right away over the final stages to win by five and half lengths, breaking through for his first win since the Challenge Stakes (Gr 2, 1100m) at Rosehill in March 2012. Mic Mac raced back in third place, one off the rails, before improving to second at the 200m. He kept battling on quite well, although outclassed by the winner, for a sound second. Title was fourth on the rails to the turn. He stuck to the rails on straightening and kept battling on in the straight to take third, beaten eight and half lengths. My Destiny plugged on for a distant fourth just in advanced of Centennial Park who was last (wide out) in the small six-horse field to the 600m and held on fairly well for fifth while Atomic Force raced well below his best, tiring to finish last. *ANZ
