Kuro showed good pace and worked early before settling outside the leader Klammer. He moved up well to take the lead at the 300m and went on to win by almost two lengths, in smart time, putting up a good effort. Echo Gal was third to the turn, got to second at the 100m and fought on to hold that position to the post, having no chance with the winner. Klammer led until the 300m point and held on fairly well to take third. Delectation was last in the seven-horse field to the home turn and made up good ground for an encouraging first-up fourth while Shaumari was back in fifth place on the rails to the turn and just battled on in the straight for (five lengths) fifth at her first run in May.
