See The World was eased from his outside barrier in the eight-horse field and was last early. He remained at the tail of the field and was giving the leaders about ten lengths at the 600m before switching out wide at the 300m, producing a great final sprint to win by almost three lengths at the post. He was suited by a solid early pace, but it was an impressive effort. Anise was second last to the turn, got a nice run through shortly afterwards and put in a good run to challenge at the 200m, battling on nicely for second. Hurrara was trapped wide early and worked up to get outside the leader (Welkom Gold) at the 600m before taking a narrow lead at the 200m. Those efforts told but he did well, under the circumstances, to hold on for third. Instinction was third last to the turn, and kept battling on in the straight to just get fourth. Shamus (fifth) was handy on the rails and seemed to have every chance while the top weight (59kg). Hot Snitzel was trapped wide and tired for a first-up sixth after a hard run. *ANZ
