Jericho, a colt from the Team Snowden stable, resumed after his debut fourth in a Two-Year-Old Handicap (1100m) at Rosehill on 21 November to score in good style here. He settled in fifth place, between runners, improved (deep) rounding the home turn and challenged on passing the 200m. He then battled very well, proving too strong in the closing stages to win well. Virgilio showed good pace to cross to the lead. He beat off a challenge at the home turn and then battled gamely for a very good second, putting up a promising effort. The Bjorn Baker-trained Cadogan was beyond midfield, improved on straightening, got to fourth at the 200m and battled well for a good third, going nicely at his second race start, looking suited to further.
