Crystal Flute won well. She was ridden quietly and settled back in sixth place, one off the rails, before improving nicely nearing the home turn. She raced to the front at the 200m and then fought back gamely, appearing to score with something in hand. Via Napoli travelled well in fifth place on the rails, improved between runners coming to the home turn and got through to second nearing the 100m. She then battled on quite well to hold second, without troubling the winner.
