Three-year-old filly Flippant put up a smart effort to score and in quick time. She settled nicely in sixth place, one off the rails, following a strong tempo. She improved (wide with cover) nearing the home turn, grabbed the lead at the 100m and then drew clear to score with something in hand. Previously unbeaten in three starts, Egyptian Symbol raced in seventh place, tracking the eventual winner. She went deep to improve nearing the home turn, drifting wide on the bend, recovered to be third at the 100m, fought then fought well for a good second, looking better suited to a larger track. Murt The Flirt went forward from his outside barrier (11), worked on the speed (three wide) outside the leading pair (Flamboyant Lass and Positive Charge), got briefly to the front on straightening and did well to hold on for third after a taxing early trip.
