Breeders’ Plate (Listed, 1000m) winner Capitalist resumed and could not have been more impressive. He travelled particularly well in third place, following a good pace. He moved up comfortably (three wide) approaching the home turn, cruised to the front at the 100m and then went on to score effortlessly and in fast time. He now heads to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) on the Gold Coast on 9 January as a deserved favourite. Niccolance raced outside the leader (Claro El Banco), moved up well coming to the home turn and fought on well in the straight for second, having no chance with the winner. Aghna was back in fourth place until the home turn and did well, running on to take the minor placing in a promising effort on debut.
