The Darren Weir-trained mare Rockolicious settled back in tenth place, between runners, after a slow beginning. She angled deeper and into clear running on straightening, showed a good turn of foot to get to the front at the 50m and proved too strong to score well. Zara Bay was a handy third, one off the rails. She looked the winner when she took the lead on passing the 200m but could not hold off the late closing winner to take a good second after running a bold race. A Lotta Love settled back near the tail of the field after starting from a wide barrier (14) and remained there until nearing the home turn. She angled for a run between runners at the 300m, got to seventh at the 100m and kept finishing well for a late-closing third.
