A number of promising types caught the eye through Tattersalls Club Cup Day program including Nivison winner White Moss, Goodfella and Legislation.

While the Carnival has well and truly headed Melbourne, a couple of strong winners at Randwick on Saturday have likely booked a last minute ticket south.

One of those shapes as White Moss who took out the Group 3 Nivison (1200m).

The daughter of Mossman has been working through her grades well and contested the Nivison off a solid first up win in an 1100m Benchmark 77 at Canterbury.

Rising from a midweeker to a Group 3 on paper is not an easy assignment however White Moss took the step up in her stride.

Working forward with another first up winner Diddums, White Moss shook off her more fancied rival at the 300m and went away for a length success.

Zestful was solid to the line in second with Kinshachi strong late for third.

Dixie Blossoms and Daysee Doom were each doing their best work late nearer to the inside, finishing fourth and fifth over an unsuitable trip after contesting Angst Stakes (1600m).

White Moss for her first black type victory was awarded a Timeform rating of 105, six pounds clear of a prior master rating achieved first up at Canterbury.

In the prior event, Goodfella impressed taking out the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m).

Settled midfield, Goodfella was a cut above his rivals in the straight, beating the consistent Piracy by a half length.

Goodfella’s Brian Crowley Stakes win yielded a Timeform rating of 108, a new master rating for the Snitzel colt who previously ran to 106 when fourth in the 2017 Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) won by Houtzen.

The three-year-old following the Magic Millions underwent a tie-back operation in his latest spell, a decision by connections which is clearly paying dividends.

He has improved with each run this campaign and will need to find again if trainer Bjorn Baker elects to start Goodfella in the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 4.

Northern Meteor in 2008 claimed the Brian Crowley Stakes – Coolmore Stud Stakes double.

Destiny’s Kiss rounds out the stakes winners at Randwick on Saturday, recording his 17th career win in the Tattersalls Club Cup (2400m).

The Joe Pride-trained veteran had produced some good results so far this campaign, namely winning the Wyong Gold Cup (2100m) and finishing fourth the run prior in the St Leger Stakes (2600m).

Destiny’s Kiss on Saturday found himself on a rain affected track for the first time since the Winter Cup on July 1 and thrived, winning the Tattersalls Club Cup from Alward and Admiral Jello.

In the process, Destiny’s Kiss shouldered the biggest weight to victory (60kg) in a Tattersalls Club Cup since Regal Rhythm successfully lumped 9st 10lbs (61.5kg) in 1971.

His win returned a Timeform rating of 114, a new master figure for Destiny’s Kiss and a pound clear of a prior peak the nine-year-old ran on five occasions.

The rating comes in above the five year winning average of the Tattersalls Club Cup and is the highest winning figure of the event since Lorne Dancer won the 2008 renewal by 3.5 lengths with an effort assessed at 117.

The nine race program opened with a notable performance as Legislation turned heads on debut in the Kirkham Plate (1000m).

His one length win returned a Timeform rating of 107 with the colt now the third highest rated two-year-old so far this season behind the Breeders’ Plate quinella of Performer and Bondi.

Kaonic continued to deliver on the hype surrounding him by winning Race 2, a 3YO Benchmark 75 Handicap (1600m).

The Savabeel colt produced a Timeform rating of 104p and will now head to Melbourne for the Carbine Club Stakes (1600m).

History augers well for the Chris Waller-trained runner with previous winners from the stable including Kermadec (2014) and Comin’ Through last year.
